About Riverdale

The Riverdale brand originated in the Netherlands, where in 1993 the entrepreneurial Ten Bos family founded the wholesale company Tenbos BV. After completing her studies, the founders' daughter Sophie started working for the company in order to learn the purchasing profession from her father. The company grew significantly, and during one of its moves to larger offices, Sophie met her current husband Patrick de Kleijn. Patrick says, 'In 2006 we took over the business from my parents-in-law, and in the same year we introduced the Riverdale brand on the consumer market. We saw the added value of developing a brand name. And what makes it so special is that my father-in-law is the one who named the brand Riverdale before his retirement.'

With home accessories for every room and its own range of kitchens and bathrooms, Riverdale - Fashionable Living has grown into one of the most recognized brands in the home decor sector in recent years. In addition to its own webshop, Riverdale is sold in more than 250 Riverdale Inspiration Shops and Riverdale Inspiration Floors in the Netherlands and other countries in Europe - and even beyond.


Just like in the world of fashion, our collection changes three times per year, and our team of designers translates the latest fashion trends into new designs. This ensures that the collections are always in step with the latest trends, and it is easy and inspiring to keep giving your interior a different look. Three times per year, a new collection of 500 products is added to our basic collection of approximately 1200 products.

In late 2013, Riverdale moved to its new headquarters in Nootdorp, the Netherlands, where it has plenty of room to continue to grow. Riverdale is a young, ambitious organization where 100 people work every day to continue to expand the brand and express its vision: 'With our passion for style and interior we would love to make your home fashionable.' Sophie is responsible for everything relating to our creativity, while Patrick takes care of all the commercial and financial issues. They're just as organized at home, too, with five children between the ages of 3 and 12. 'Our biggest wish is that our children will take over the company in the future, so that future generations can continue to decorate their home with style and fashion!' says Patrick.
